SHARLENE DAVIS SPEAKS OUT: “I AM NOT MENTALLY ILL – I AM BEING HELD AGAINST MY WILL”🇯🇲
Sharlene Davis, a 48 Year-old Jamaican woman, has bravely come forward to share her story.
She has given full permission for her name to be made public, determined to clear her name and raise awareness about what she describes as a grave injustice.
Sharlene insists she has never attempted to take her own life and is not someone who would self-harm.
She says she is of sound mind and body, but is currently fearing for her life after being detained at Crystal Ward, Calnwood Court, Calnwood Road, Luton LU4 0LU. The ward is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust.
The contact number for the ward is 01582 293482.
VICTIM OF ABUSE, NOT A DANGER TO HERSELF
The shrine recounts a harrowing history of abuse.
She alleges that she was repeatedly raped and drugged by her ex-partner, with whom she lived under violent conditions.
During this time, she also witnessed human trafficking.
Despite reporting her ex-partner to the police, she claims no action was taken, suggesting he may have been protected by authorities.
A RESPECTED PROFESSIONAL AND MENTOR
Before these events, Sharlene had built a successful career in the fashion and beauty industry.
She worked as a make-up artist for high-profile celebrities and participated in prestigious events such as Pakistan Fashion Week.
She was also a motivational speaker, known for mentoring and uplifting others.
MISLED, INTERROGATED AND BLOCKED FROM WRITING
Sharlene says she was deceived into believing she was being taken to hospital for a rape examination.
Instead of being directed to a women’s support office or safe space, she found herself admitted to a mental health ward.
Since arriving, she claims she has been interrogated by staff in an attempt to build a case against her.
She reports that one of the individuals questioning her was a trainee who claimed to be unqualified and conducted the interrogation without a supervisor or other staff present.
Sharlene believes this was highly inappropriate and further evidence of procedural misconduct.
She also alleges that staff attempted to trick her into signing documents without explaining what they were. When she asked for clarification, she says no explanation was given.
Furthermore, Sharlene claims the facility has refused to provide her with a pen—stating they “don’t have one”—which she believes is a deliberate tactic to stop her from writing down names or documenting her treatment.
CONDITIONS IN CRYSTAL WARD
Sharlene describes the ward as prison-like, with barbed wire fencing, no access to fresh air, and freezing conditions.
She says her room has no windows or proper ventilation, and she has not been allowed outside since her admission.
Staff reportedly shine torches in her face every 15 minutes, disturbing her sleep and worsening her distress.
She has been denied the ability to charge her phone in her room and is instead instructed to charge it in the office.
Sharlene feels this is a form of control and intimidation, especially as there is no legal policy preventing phone charging in patient rooms.
She believes this restriction is part of a broader effort to isolate her from the outside world.
Sharlene also claims that staff told her to keep her phone line active, despite her concerns.
She says she does not share her room with anyone and is being kept away from the general population, which adds to her sense of isolation and vulnerability.
She further alleges that her Facebook, TikTok, and phone line have been tampered with to prevent her from reaching loved ones.
According to Sharlene, her phone line was diverted by her former partner to a number that has been publicly reported as spam: +44 7782 333123.
BLOCKED FROM COMMUNICATING ON WHATSAPP
Sharlene now reports that her WhatsApp phone has been deliberately blocked from communicating with the outside world.
She says she is unable to call anyone or send any materials, and believes this is a calculated move by the facility to prevent her from seeking help or exposing what is happening inside.
She fears this is part of a wider effort to silence her and keep her isolated.
FORCED MEDICATION AND FEAR OF POISONING
Sharlene alleges that she has been forcibly medicated with diazepam and injected while asleep—without her consent.
She has refused to eat, stating that she fears she may be poisoned by hospital staff.
She says this treatment is a violation of her human rights and has left her traumatised.
NO LEGAL REPRESENTATION OR REFERRAL TO SAFE SPACE
Since her detainment, Sharlene says she has not been provided with any legal representation.
No effort has been made to refer her to a women’s refuge or safe accommodation, despite her history of rape and abuse.
She was only permitted one phone call to contact someone, which she believes is a serious breach of her legal rights.
Sharlene feels her rights have been stripped away entirely.
UNLAWFUL DETAINMENT AND ALLEGED COVER-UP
Sharlene states that the hospital is attempting to keep her detained for 28 days against her will.
She argues that, under the Mental Health Act, she can only be held for 72 hours unless she poses a threat to herself or others—which she does not.
She believes that forced medication is triggering emotional trauma and that both the police and hospital staff have orchestrated her extended detainment to prevent her from pressing charges related to corruption and misconduct.
She now claims the facility is actively seeking an emergency court order to extend her detainment beyond 28 days.
Sharlene believes this is a deliberate tactic to buy time and suppress her ability to take legal action.
Sharlene also claims that the lead charger for her phone was deliberately tampered with, leaving her unable to charge her device. She was forced to borrow a lead from staff just to regain temporary access to her phone.
A PUBLIC PLEA FOR HELP
On Friday, 8 November 2025 around 6pm, Sharlene made a desperate plea for help on African Caribbean Caribbean Online, a Facebook platform.
She begged for support, stating clearly that she is not suicidal and wants the world to know that if anything happens to her, she was innocent and afraid—not mentally unwell.
CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY
Sharlene warns that Crystal Ward has a reputation for silencing patients and forcing medication upon them.
She believes her case is part of a wider pattern of abuse and cover-ups that must be investigated.
