The Charles Gordon Trust London Community Awards Excellence 2025 unfolded in spectacular fashion at the opulent Sapphire Empire in Croydon—a venue renowned not only for its grandeur but also for accommodating guests with luxury hotel stays.

Founded by Charles Gordon, the awards ceremony was a radiant celebration of Black History Month, honouring excellence across entertainment, community leadership, and cultural impact.

✨ A Night of Legacy and Celebration 
The evening was hosted by the charismatic duo Tatiana Sanchez and comedian Kojo Anim, who guided guests through a vibrant programme of performances, speeches, and tributes.

🍽️ Elegant Dining Experience
Guests were treated to a refined selection of food and drinks served by Vue waitresses and waiters, adding a touch of luxury and professionalism to the evening’s hospitality.

The attentive service complemented the celebratory atmosphere, allowing guests to enjoy the awards in comfort and style.

🎤 Unforgettable Performances 
So Solid Crew’s Romeo and Lisa Maffia electrified the stage with a high-energy performance that had the crowd buzzing.

Closing the night was the soulful Kele Le Roc, whose final act left guests uplifted and inspired.

She later posed for group photos with Charles Gordon, Romeo, and Lisa Maffia—capturing a moment of unity and celebration.

📸 Star Sightings and Red Carpet Moments 
Romeo was spotted doing a campaign shoot with a Caribbean rum brand, while Richard Blackwood mingled at table 15 with DJ Milktray and Dixy from the Gal Flex sound system.

Rapper Lady Leshurr turned heads in a bright pink ensemble, and Junior Barber, founder of Bus Driver Linkup, posed with influencer Maxine Boothe on the red carpet.

Awards were presented to a diverse array of honourees:
- An 11-year-old youth received a special recognition award.

- Antoine Allen was honoured for excellence in TV presenting and broadcast journalism.

- Matts Babq won for outstanding event organisation.

- Actor Amil Ameen received the International Acting Excellence Award.

- Levi Roots was celebrated with the Lifetime Achievement Excellence Award and gave a moving speech, later seen taking photos with guests by the red carpet.

- Jay Knox took home the DJ Excellence Award.

🗣️ Voices of Wisdom and Impact 
Dave Neita captivated guests with his insights on the legal system, while Bahamian High Commissioner Paul Andy Gomez accepted an award and delivered a powerful speech.

Fredi Kwaka, actor, producer, and author of Boy, received the Black Excellence Award and promoted his book with flair, posing alongside  guests.

🎲 Entertainment and Elegance 
Guests enjoyed roulette games and dazzling performances from dancers featured on Britain’s Got Talent, adding a playful and glamorous touch to the evening.
